phantom walls

phantom birds-
not much to recommend
hollow walls never tell tales
although brook in the woods does
I never notice leaping birds in rocky path
dry land does not interest them
when we get to listen to phantom screams
the walls will fall apart
no marriage can survive closed walls

"new walls will be built out of silence
why do I wish for that, I wonder"

hollow walls... wishing for stone walls. Great poem. Very sorry to hear about your eye situation. I wish you good health, and soon! Rest!

well done! If you are up to it, I hope you will join me and others around the world in creating a gratitude quilt of words. To learn more about this project and how you can participate read the white box at the top of my blog. It would be wonderful to have you be a part of this.

I am so sorry to hear about your eyes. Hopeful that it will recover with time and happy you are off work and resting. Yes: NO STRESS!!!!!! Our eyes are too precious, and there is still so much to see. Please keep us informed, will you, Guatami?

I love these lines especially:
when we get to listen to phantom screams
the walls will fall apart

i would not want silence to come between me and anyone as a wall...it is in my opinion more of a weapon than a wall...and selfish...

Nicely crafted metaphor, Gautami.

Breathtaking writing again.

Hope your eye is mending.

The brook! I'm shocked! I trusted it to hold it's tongue and the wretched thing does nothing but babble.
